Protecting Natural and Beneficial River Functions in the Florida Parishes.

NORTHSHORE RIVERWATCH

Northshore Riverwatch protects the rivers, floodplains, and watersheds of Louisiana's Florida Parishes through science, education, advocacy, conservation, and public participation.

We keep watch over the decisions that affect our watersheds — from wastewater permits and pollution to floodplain development and river management — and give communities the information and technical knowledge they need to influence their future.

THREE YEARS OF KEEPING WATCH

Backed by Experience

Since 2023, Northshore Riverwatch has put decades of experience to work protecting the rivers, floodplains, and communities of the Florida Parishes.

We review permits and technical documents, respond to pollution, defend Scenic Rivers, challenge development in flood-hazard areas, conserve riparian lands and floodplains, and help residents participate effectively in the decisions shaping their communities.

Ready to take the next step?

Healthy rivers and safer communities depend on people who are informed, engaged, and willing to participate.

Northshore Riverwatch gives residents the information, tools, and technical knowledge to understand the decisions affecting their rivers, floodplains, and communities — and the opportunity to make their voices count.

BACK THE WATCH

Somebody has to keep watch.

Most people don't have the time or experience to follow every river permit application, development proposal, regulatory action, and public process affecting their rivers, flood risk, and communities. For three years, Northshore Riverwatch has done that work for you.

Developers and other well-funded interests bring attorneys, engineers, consultants, and institutional knowledge to the table. Communities rarely have those resources.

Riverwatch brings an understanding of the science, regulations, and public process — putting that knowledge into citizens' hands so they can participate effectively and influence their future.
