Public Comments for Slidell Breakwater USACE Permit Application Due November 3, 2024

The proposed project is to construct a series of 13 breakwaters, of which7 large breakwaters would extend approximately 1,000 feet each with 6 additional smaller breakwaters to extend approximately 250 feet each. The purpose of the proposed project is to provide the adjacent shoreline community protection from waves between I-10 and hwy 11 Bridges.

Vicksburg, Miss. — June 7, 2024 — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced the publication of the Draft Environmental Impact Study (DEIS) for the Pearl River Basin Mississippi Federal Flood Risk Management Project. This significant step in the project's development marks the beginning of a 45-day public review period, concluding on Monday, July 22, 2024.
